Come See Us At Sparta Day! June 3

Posted on May 29 2023 - 5:53pm

The troop just completed another great Memorial Day parade in town.  Thank you to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Let us remember those who courageously gave their lives.

The next place to see us and get more information about the troop will be at Sparta Day on June 3 at Station Park

Between our three groups, Boys Troop 150, Girls Troop 1150, and Pack 150, we have something for everyone 6 - 18 years old.

Thank you! Our mulch sale was a huge success!

A BIG thank you to everyone who purchased mulch, made a donation, or helped with delivery. Thanks to you, we met our goals and the troop is ready for another exciting year. We are lucky to have your support!

Mulch Sale Starting Soon!

Posted on Feb 27 2023 - 11:19pm

Stay tuned. Our annual mulch sale is starting soon!

(Early March)

Our annual mulch sale is our biggest fundraiser of the year.

It's a great opportunity for you to spruce up your home or business and to support your local Scout Troop.

Even though we get a couple of big truckloads, we always sell out, so be sure to get your order in early!

Come back to this website for more details, or find us distributing more info at the Liquor Factory in Sparta on March 25th and April 1.

Klondike!

Posted on Jan 17 2023 - 10:54am

Klondike!

On January 28, Troop 150 will be participating with two patrols this year.

The Klondike derby is an annual event held by some Boy Scouts of America and Scouts Canada districts during the winter months and is based on the lore of the 1897 Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon. BSA units have been running Klondike derbies since 1949.

The typical Klondike derby consists of several stations where patrols/units must test their Scoutcraft skills and their leadership abilities, earning points towards a total score. Often, one or more races are included while the Scouts navigate between stations. The unit must transport their gear on a homemade sled pulled by the Scouts.

Adopt-A-Family Program Donations

Sparta Troop 150 Adopt-A-Family Program Donation Page

Sparta Troop 150 takes great pride in the Adopt-A-Family program we run every year to help families and individuals in great need during the Holiday season. Troop 150 Scouts have done this program for over 20 years. The families and individuals that Troop 150 sponsors are provided to us through local community churches. 90% of the items purchased are shoes, socks, coats, essential clothing, blankets, and sometimes just paper goods. The Troop challenges itself to always help as many families as possible.

The Scouts of Troop 150 are directly involved. They get the wish list for each person and then do the actual shopping for these items. They experience the challenge of staying within a budget while trying to get everything requested. They are also often humbled when they see the basic necessities people ask for as Holiday gifts.

The funding that supports this program is raised mainly through donations from people like you and fundraising events conducted by the Scouts! Thank you for considering supporting this Troop 150 community support program.
